The Great gamescom Adventure

It seems an age already since I returned back from Germany after flying out for gamescom. For a first timer in Germany the expo did more than enough to make me want to go back so hopefully next year I can make my way across the bridge once again, divulge in some rather tasty sausage and sit on the steps in front of the cathedral at silly o'clock in the morning talking with friends. The Great E3 adventure

E3 has been and gone and suffice to say that despite being extremely hard work memories were forged that will undoubtedly last a life time. From driving down the road and my eyes clocking the gigantic building sized Skyrim poster to stepping out of the cab on the Sunday to be greeted by the LA conference centre draped in banners of all sizes. Now I'm back on UK soil and sat in front of my trusty PC the great write up can begin.

Developing with Portals

Portal 2 has been getting everyone in a right stir, and quite right too as it's a hell of a game. A lot has been said about "thinking with portals" but my eyes are now firmly set on the whole process of "developing with portals", so, intrigued by the whole prospect I've once again returned to an old friend in the form of the Source SDK.

The Hunt for Red Jobtober

Now that Uni is over and done one with the whole process of searching out and applying for a job can start in earnest, which just means I've replaced one source of stress with another. Of course it was always to be expected, the process of going from University Student > Graduate is never a smooth one for a number of reasons, let alone on the job front. That's not to say a plan hasn't been put in place for this day, far from it in fact.

It’s about time

University life is over and the big wide world is currently greeting me with crossed arms and a rather dour expression spread across its face. No more shall I be confined to my desk watching word counts grow increasingly higher and a seething hatred for Harvard referencing can now fizzle out. My evenings are once mine again and to cut a line from Starcraft II, “It's about time”.
